Encouraged by the overwhelming response from its debut festival back in 2014 that garnered more than 15,000 visitors, YSDAF2016 returned with a new theme - ARTS EDUCATION + THE FUTURE.
With a commitment to celebrate and educate its audience on the evolution of the local arts industry, the biennial event in 2016 also saw the staging of three satellite shows, namely a wayang kulit performance entitled Hikayat Sang Kancil, a dance extravaganza by ASWARA called 3 Faces and the screening of this region’s top short films entries with The Best of Tropfest SEA. All three shows proved to be a hit with arts enthusiasts of all ages and the public at large.
